Terms of Service

Program: MerchantLink sends text messages on behalf of merchants to customers who have opted in. Messages include invoices, one-time payment links, payment reminders and receipts, replies to billing questions, and responses to HELP and STOP requests. Messages are not used for marketing, and donation requests are never sent by text.

How you opt in: by entering your mobile number and checking the unchecked consent box on a MerchantLink payment page or a merchant’s MerchantLink sign-up form. Consent is not a condition of purchase; you can pay without opting in.

• Message frequency varies based on your invoices and payments.
• Message and data rates may apply.
• Reply STOP to any message to opt out. You will receive one confirmation message and no further texts unless you opt in again. Reply START to resume.
• Reply HELP for help, or contact support@merchantlink.ai.
• Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Your mobile number and consent are handled as described in our Privacy Policy and are never shared with third parties for marketing purposes. Full details: SMS program.

MerchantLink lets merchants create invoices and payment links, share them by link, QR code, email or text, and accept payments through a payment processor or gateway the merchant connects. MerchantLink is not a bank, money transmitter or payment processor and does not hold funds. Payments are processed and settled by the merchant’s processor under the merchant’s agreement with that processor.

• Provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials and API keys secure.
• Only send invoices and payment requests for legitimate goods and services you provide.
• Text messages are sent only to customers who opt in themselves through MerchantLink’s web forms (the payment page or the merchant’s text sign-up page). Merchants cannot opt customers in on their behalf. You must not ask MerchantLink to text anyone who has not opted in, and you must comply with applicable law, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
• Comply with your payment processor’s terms and all applicable laws, including consumer protection and debt collection laws.
• Review AI-generated drafts before approving them. You are responsible for messages sent from your account, including on autopilot.

MerchantLink includes AI-assisted features such as drafting invoices, writing reminders, classifying replies, answering payer questions and forecasting payments. AI output may be inaccurate. By default, customer-facing AI messages require merchant approval. Forecasts and predictions are estimates, not guarantees.

Merchants may connect software and AI agents using API keys. Merchants are responsible for actions taken with their keys, and should use the available scopes, amount limits and approval settings to control what connected agents can do.

You may not use MerchantLink to send spam or unsolicited messages, collect payments for illegal goods or services, commit fraud, test stolen payment credentials, or interfere with the service. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms or put customers at risk.

Plan fees are described on our pricing page. Payment processing fees are charged separately by the merchant’s payment processor.

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MerchantLink is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for losses arising from payment processors, carriers or other third-party services.
